Sticky Map Privacy Policy
Effective October 4, 2026 (replacing the version effective October 1, 2026). The changes are summarized at the end.
LOCALINK Co., Ltd. (the “Company”) processes personal information in operating Sticky Map (the “Service”) in accordance with the Personal Information Protection Act of the Republic of Korea. This policy explains what information is processed, why, and for how long.
1. Personal Information We Process
When getting started with a nickname
| Information | Required? | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Nickname | Required | Display beside stickers and distinguish members |
| Device account identifier | Required | Let you continue using the Service on this device without an email (Firebase anonymous authentication) |
When linking an email or signing in
| Information | Required? | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Required | Identify your account, sign in and reset your password | |
| Password | Required | Sign in. It is stored in an irreversible transformed form; the Company cannot see the original password |
Information posted by members (public)
- Stickers and comments: emoji, photos, text, the location selected on the map, and posting time.
- Profile photo (optional) and bio (optional, up to 80 characters): processed only when you add or edit them. The photo file is stored on the Service’s servers (AWS), and its address is kept in the profile data shared with other services that use the same Localink account, such as DotMap. So a photo uploaded in another service also appears in Sticky Map for the same account.
- Visibility settings: “Show peeled stickers” and identifiers of individually exhibited stickers (optional, off and empty by default).
- Press records and follow relationships.
- Reports and block records (not public).
When allowing notifications in the apps (iOS, Android) or on the web
- Device notification token: used to send notifications. We stop using it when you turn off notifications or sign out.
Information generated automatically during use
- IP address, access time, and browser/device information: recorded during server access for security and abuse prevention.
- Sign-in persistence values and screen preferences, such as when notifications were last viewed: stored on your device.
Location
- Tapping “My location” moves the map to your device’s current location. This location is used only to move the map and is not sent to the Company’s server.
- A sticker’s location is selected by the member on the map and is public along with the sticker.
Information we do not collect
- Real names, phone numbers and payment information.
2. Purposes of Use
- Identifying members and keeping them signed in.
- Providing and operating the sticker map Service (including profiles, following and the feed) and responding to disruptions.
- Handling reports, preventing abuse and responding to security incidents.
- Responding to inquiries and delivering announcements and notifications.
The Company does not use information beyond these purposes and obtains consent in advance if the purposes change.
3. Public Information
The following is visible to other users and may be shared through links.
Nickname, and profile photo and bio if you add them.
Stickers (emoji, photos and text), placement locations and times, press counts, and comments.
Follower and following counts and lists.
The total number of stickers posted so far, the longest time one stayed on the map, and presses received — counted including peeled stickers, as numbers only. Individually selected exhibits are described below.
Only if you turn on “Show peeled stickers”: the art, lifetime and press count of your peeled stickers (the message, photo, location and comments are not shown).
Individually selected profile exhibits show their art, message, photo and lifetime.
Not displayed publicly: stickers you pressed, your email, block and report records, unselected archived messages and photos, and archived locations, comments and pressers. You can remove an exhibit from your profile while keeping it in your private archive. A profile photo uploaded in another service that uses the same Localink account is also shown publicly in Sticky Map.
4. Shared Localink Account
An account with a linked email is a shared Localink account used across the Company’s services, including DotMap and Golmokgolmok. Accounts registered with the same email are managed as one account. Deleting the account also deletes it from the Company’s other services used with that account. The profile photo is shared by the services that use this account, so a photo changed in Sticky Map also appears in the others.
5. Retention and Deletion
- Member information and stickers are retained while membership continues. Peeled stickers are also retained for the member’s stickerbook. Profile photos and bios are retained until the member changes or removes them.
- When an account is deleted, the account, stickers, profile photo and bio immediately become unavailable. They are irreversibly destroyed one year after account deletion.
- Information that must be retained by law is kept for the legally required period. For example, login records are retained for three months under the Protection of Communications Secrets Act.
6. Disclosure to Third Parties
The Company does not sell or disclose users’ personal information to others, except with prior consent or where required or permitted by law.
7. Service Providers and External Services
The Company uses the following infrastructure providers to operate the Service. These providers process information only as necessary to provide their services, and servers may be located outside Korea.
| Provider | Role | Information processed |
|---|---|---|
| Amazon Web Services | Servers, databases and photo storage | Member information, stickers and access records |
| Google (Firebase) | Authentication and app and web notifications | Device account identifiers, email addresses and device notification tokens |
| Google (Google Maps Platform) | Map display | Connection information when loading maps |
| Vercel | Web delivery | Access records |
| jsDelivr (CDN) | Font delivery | Access records such as IP addresses |
8. Your Rights
- You may request access, correction, deletion or suspension of processing of your personal information and withdraw consent at any time.
- You can change or remove your nickname, profile photo and bio under “Edit profile” in Settings, turn “Show peeled stickers” on or off at any time under “Visibility” in Settings, and delete your account yourself through “Delete account” in Settings.
- Send other requests to the contact below. After verifying your identity, the Company will promptly handle the request and inform you of the outcome.
- Children under 14 may not use the Service.
9. Security Measures
- Irreversible password transformation and encryption in transit (HTTPS).
- Minimizing and managing administrator access to personal information.
- Retaining and reviewing access records.
- Minimizing collection through a design that does not send the device’s current location to the Company’s server.
10. Privacy Officer and Contact

11. Changes to This Policy
Changes will be announced in the Service at least 7 days before they take effect. Changes important to users’ rights will be announced at least 30 days in advance.
Effective Date
This policy takes effect on October 4, 2026, replacing the policy effective October 1, 2026.
What changed (effective October 4, 2026)
- Profile photo and bio as processed items, and a note that the photo is shared with other services using the same account (Sections 1, 3 and 4)
- Public and non-public information are now listed separately, and follower lists, cumulative numbers and comments were added to public information (Section 3)
- What becomes public when a member turns on “Show peeled stickers” (Sections 1, 3 and 5)
- Retention and deletion of profile photos and bios, and how to change or remove them in Settings (Sections 5 and 8)
Corrected on October 1, 2026: the notification token processing now correctly covers the iOS and Android apps and the web, not only the iOS app.
